Board of Studies (Opleidingscommissie) en Facultaire Studentenraden
Description
The Board of Studies, in Dutch the Opleidingscommissie, monitors and improves the quality of education within a programme. The committee consists half of students and half of teaching staff and has the right to advise on and consent to matters such as the teaching and examination regulations. At faculty level there is also the Faculty Student Council, which represents student interests across the whole faculty. Both are more accessible than the Central Student Council and a good first step into student participation: you get to know education policy and have direct influence on your own programme.
Applying (how & when)
Boards of Studies usually recruit at the start of the academic year; the Faculty Student Councils are elected annually in May.
Requirements
Open to students of the relevant programme or faculty.
